Abstract
Analysis of Livestock Business and Beef Cattle Marketing in Tandun Village, Tandun District, Rokan Hulu Regency, under the guidance of Mrs. Dr. Ir. Marliati, M. Si. The high number of beef imports is due to the increasing consumption of beef. Tandun Village is one of the villages in Tandun District, Rokan Hulu Regency which has natural potential in beef cattle cultivation. This study aims to analyze: 1) livestock characteristics and profiles of the beef cattle business, 2) beef cattle farming, and 3) Beef cattle marketing. The research was carried out in Tandun Village, Tandun District, Rokan Hulu Regency from May to October 2022. The method used in this study was a survey method. The data were analyzed descriptively, quantitatively, and statistically. The results showed that the characteristics of breeders and traders had a productive age of 41-45 years and 25-34 years, with male gender and education level at the high school level, the scale of livestock business was small, only 5 fish/breeder. The main job of the farmer is PTPN V Tandun employee, while the main job of the trader is as a trader. The average business experience of breeders is low, namely 5.5 years, while traders are 8.75 years. The number of dependents in each family is 3 people. The business profile includes the variety used, namely Bali cattle, with the source of capital being own capital and labor of 88.64 HOK/year. The total cost of the beef cattle business is Rp. 3,882,208/year, the net income of the farmer is Rp. 7,594,192/year, the feasibility of the efficiency of the livestock business is 3 so the livestock business is feasible to be developed. The total marketing costs for channels I and II are the same amounting to Rp 6,463/kg, the marketing margin for channel 1 is Rp 15,000/Kg, channel II is Rp 10,000/Kg, the marketing profit is Rp 8,537/Kg for the channel I and Rp 3,537/Kg for channel II, farmer's share channel I 88.5% and channel II 92% with a marketing efficiency of 4.9% for the channel I and 5.2% for channel II.
