Abstract

Victim blaming is a phenomenon that occurs when a victim of a particular crime or tragedy is held accountable for what happened to them. In some cases of sexual harassment, the victim is often blamed for what happened to her. This is known as victim blaming. Victim blaming usually occurs in cases of sexual harassment or assault and rape, where the victim is often accused of inviting an attack because of her dress or behavior. This is what happened to victims L, P and M. They were victims of sexual harassment, but experienced victim blaming. The purpose of this study was to determine the phenomenon of victim blaming against victims of sexual harassment, especially Victims L, P, and M, in Tanah Merah Village, Kampar Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative method by conducting interviews with key informants and related informants. The theory used in explaining the phenomenon in this study is the theory of feminism. The results of this study are the phenomenon of victim blaming that occurs against the victim in the form of behavior that blames the victim for what happened to him. Based on interviews, victims are generally blamed for the clothes they wear, and also for going out at night.
