Abstract

This study amis to determine and analyze the Development of the village library in Ukui District by the Department of Archives and Libraries of Pelalawan Regency. To find out the inhibiting factors of Village Development in Ukui District by Department of Archives and Libraries of Pelalawan Regency. This study uses a gualitative method wit a descriptive type. The source of data comes from key informants and specifield informants. Meanwhile, data collected was carried out by means of interviews, observation, and documentation. All data collected are separated according to their respective criteria and analyzed according to theory to draw conclusions from the research. The results of this study found that the village library Development by the Department of Archives and Libraries of Pelalawan Regency has been carried out. This is as contained in the indicators of counseling, direction, and guidace, some of which have been carried out by the Department of Archives and Libraries in Pelalawan Regency in fostering village libraries. The obstacles found in the implementation of village library Development by the Department of Archives and Libraries in Pelalawan Regency are in the form of minimal budget allocation that have been rationalized for other Activities, insufficient human Resources, and the large area of Pelalawan Regency which are obstacles in terms of distance traveled at the time of visit constuction.
