Abstract
Waste production water that is generated from the oil or natural gas production process may not be disposed of directly into the environment or injected into a reservoir if it still contains oil content and is not in accordance with the regulations of the Government Regulation. Currently, one way to separate production water from oil content and other impurities is filtering or filtration with an oil removal filter with a walnut shell filter media. In this study the comparison between coconut shell activated carbon, walnut shell, and a combination of coconut shell activated carbon and walnut shell was used to determine its effect on the value of oil content and total dissolved oil (TDS), turbidity and PH of water produced in the #SPU Sei field. Karas PT. Pertamina EP Lyrics. Coconut shell activated carbon is used because it contains many micropores, low ash content, high water solubility, high absorption capacity, is not harmful to the environment and has high reactivity. In addition, coconut shells also contain silica oxide (SiO2), iron oxide (Fe2O3), and aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and are pozzolanic because the chemical content of silica and aluminia in shell charcoal meets limestone and water, forming a solid mass. and bonds that are tough and do not dissolve in water. The research method used was experimental research and the results showed that the oil content that was still contained in the production water after the filtration process was 8 ppm with an efficiency of 11.11% in walnut shell media, 7 ppm with an efficiency of 22.22% on shell activated carbon media. coconut, and 8 ppm with an efficiency of 11.11% in combination media. TDS values were 197 ppm in walnut shell media, 918 ppm on coconut shell activated carbon media, and 1554 on combination media. pH 6.39 for the filter results using the walnut shell, 8.68 for activated carbon and 6.87 for the combination, and the level of water turbidity (Turbidity) 8.32 NTU on walnut shell media, 8.68 NTU on coconut shell activated carbon media and 3.95 NTU on combination media.
