Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the musical elements of Rarak Calempong Onom (Ragam Baliak) in Pauh Agit Village, Pangean District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The theory used in Jelia Megawati Heru research on elements of music theory (2016) is Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, and Timbre. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method using qualitative data, namely the research is carried out by approaching the object under study to obtain accurate data. Research data collection techniques are observation techniques, interview techniques, and documentation techniques. Data analysis by means of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there are 3 main elements of music contained in the music of rarak calempong onom variety of baliak, namely rhythm, melody and timbre. While harmony is not included in it, this is because only 1 type of melodic instrument is used in the rarak calempong onom variety of baliak, namely the copper calempong and the pattern of playing the calempong there is no definite form of harmony and there is also no chord playing on the calempong instrument.
