Abstract

This study aims to determine the values contained in the song Zapin Pasang Suluh which was popularized by Yuherman Naser in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The theory used in this study is the theory of The Liang Gie (1996:109) which in the theory there are four values, namely, religious values, truth values, goodness values, and beauty values. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and data display. Subjects in this study amounted to 5 people. The results of the research on the values contained in the Zapin Pasang Suluh song are as follows: it has a value consisting of, 1) the religious values contained in the lyrics of the Zapin Pasang Suluh song are very good for us and also have a very high language, so we can feel it. and we practice it in our lives while in this world. 2) the value of goodness contained in the lyrics of this song contains a lot of goodness from the first verse to the end which invites us to always share knowledge with others. 3) the value of truth in the lyrics of this song is true and also in accordance with the life that exists in this day and age where everyone has neglected their worship, and has also neglected to always do good. 3) the value of beauty contained in the lyrics of this song, namely the lyrics that encourage people to always think positively, because at first the person was not sure of the direction when listening to this song can immediately become enlightened to always do good and also practice what is commanded by Allah Almighty.
