Abstract

The presence of a plantation company in a village is identical to the progress of the village. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the population, the people who work as employees in the company and the company profile of PT. Gandaerah Hendana on the socio-economic community in the Village of Ukui Dua, District of Ukui, Pelalawan Regency and the impact of the existence of oil palm plantations of PT. Gandaerah Hendana on the socio-economic community in the village of Ukui Dua, District of Ukui, Pelalawan Regency. This research was conducted for 5 months starting from August 2019 until December 2019. This study used a survey method and samples were taken by simple random sampling. The data collected consists of primary and secondary data. The results showed that the population in Ukui Dua Village, Ukui District, amounted to 4,407 inhabitants, consisting of 2,236 male residents and 2,171 female residents. The majority of the community works as farmers, but there are also those who work as gardeners, buildings, teachers, civil servants, and others. Communities in Ukui Village Two levels of education are very diverse, ranging from early childhood, kindergarten, elementary, junior and senior high schools and vocational courses such as vocational schools, and many people also go to tertiary institutions, but live in the capital and district capital. The presence of PT. Gandaerah Hendana brings positive and negative impacts for the people of Ukui Dua Village, Ukui District. The positive impact felt is from the economic side including business opportunities, income, formal education and living standards. The negative impacts felt are in social life including social conflict and shifting norms. Overall, the five positive impact variables were more dominantly felt by the community. Then from the results of the Wilxocon calculation in Appendix 4 obtained, (Asymp.sig) with α = 0.05 obtained z count (0.000) smaller (<) with α = 0.05, then "H" _ "o" is rejected "H" _ "1" is accepted. This means that the presence of PT. Gandaerah Hendana has a positive impact on the socio-economic community of the Village of Ukui Dua, District of Ukui, Pelalawan Regency.
