Abstract
Renewable energy sources are the current solution to replace limited non- renewable energy sources. Biogas is one of the renewable energy sources that can process and utilize organic waste sago dregs (repu) which has accumulated waste and waste pollution that disturbs the tail of the surrounding environmental system in the Meranti Islands Regency. This biogas study aims to determine the fermentation time, the pressure of the biogas produced, and the volume of biogas obtained from a portable digester using sago dregs and cow dung as a starter. The method used in this study is an experimental method by taking into account the differences in the height of the manometer, biogas pressure, biogas volume development, biogas volume, biogas potential, and biogas flame test. This experiment used raw material for sago dregs (repu) with a ratio of 1:2 at a digester capacity of 0.122 m³. During 32 days of data collection, this study produced a total volume of 1.55 m³ of biogas and for 25 minutes 26 seconds the biogas stove produced a blue flame with methane gas as fuel.
