Abstract

The effect of reciprocal method toward students‟ reading comprehension of grade tenth at SMAS Bina Siswa Rokan Hilir. The background of this research was based on problems that faced by students in reading class. The use of Reciprocal Method can be used as a teaching method to help teacher in teaching learning, especially in teaching reading comprehension. The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of reciprocal method toward students’ reading comprehension of grade tenth at SMAS Bina Siswa Rokan Hilir in academic year 2021/2022. This research was conducted by using quasi experimental. Data were obtained by giving test to the students of grade tenth ( X IPS 1 as experimental class and X IPS 2 as control class). The instruments that were used to collect data were pre-test and post-test as main instrument. The test was used to know students' ability in reading comprehension before and after the teacher implementing Reciprocal Method. In testing the hypothesis, the researcher used SPSS 21. The finding in this research is that to higher than tt (11.160>2.045 and sig<0.05), that mean there is significant effect of using reciprocal method toward students reading comprehension in SMAS Bina Siswa Rokan Hilir.
