Abstract

This study is motivated by the efforts of Islamic studies teachers in developing students’ creative thinking skills at SMAN 1 Tanah Putih Rokan Hilir. This study is very important because it aims to investigate any efforts to develop creative thinking skills. The agenda of this study is the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ creative thinking skills, then how the efforts made by the Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ creative thinking skills, and what the obstacles faced by the Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ creative thinking skills at SMAN 1 Tanah Putih. The object of the study is the efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in developing students’ creative thinking skills at SMAN 1 Tanah Putih. The type of this study is qualitative research with a case study approach. The main informant is a teacher of Islamic Studies, Mrs. Eliyanis S.Pd.I and the supporting informant is Mrs. Dessi Fitriani S.Pd. The data collection techniques of the study are interviews and documentation. The data processing and analysis of the study are conducted by preparing raw data in the form of transcripts, field notes, the researcher’s point of views, providing data for analysis, and reading all data. The results of this study show that the efforts made by the Islamic studies teachers are forming study groups, applying literacy activities, providing learning media, conducting spiritual activities, asking students questions at the beginning of learning, giving conclusions at the end of learning, conducting trials in learning, creating competitions, and giving rewards to students.
