Abstract
Utilization of waste is one of the best alternatives to reduce environmental pollution. Utilization of waste charcoal from burning teak wood is still very limited. Here will be conducted research on the results of burning teak wood, namely charcoal from teak wood and mixed with carbon graphite and as a binder of epoxy resin. In particular, the purpose of this research is to be able to make composites from waste materials from burning teak wood, carbon graphite as reinforcement and epoxy resin as binders to become composite materials with more alternative value, and to get the best mixture in the manufacture of conducting polymer composites from waste products. burning teak wood, namely teak charcoal, graphite carbon as reinforcement and epoxy resin as a binder to obtain the optimum value from the electrical conductivity test, observation of the microstructure and density of a mixture of teak charcoal, carbon graphite and epoxy resin. In this study, the tests carried out include electrical conductivity tests, microstructural observations and density calculations of each sample. Composite pellets with the composition AKJ 40% - KG 40% - RE 20%, AKJ 30% - KG 50% - RE 20% and AKJ 20% - KG 60% - RE 20% (volume fraction) were obtained through cold pressing compression at pressure five (5) tons. From the results of this study, it was found that the high electrical conductivity value in sample three (3) with a composition ratio of 20:60:20 with a value of 98.42 S.cm-1, the results of microstructure observations of sample 3 with a composition ratio of 20:60:20 showed that The sample has less teak charcoal than graphite carbon, visible particles and a better density than the two previous samples because the graph carbon content is more dominant than teak charcoal, with epoxy resin as the medium for binding particles and the sample has a density according to SNI standards. it was obtained in the three samples because it had a density value above the SNI standard of 0.4 gr/cm3.
