Abstract

Rice is an agricultural product that is the main consumption of the Indonesian people. The quality of rice yields is often unsatisfactory because some of them have empty rice. So farmers have to separate the filled and empty rice grains. The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine the effect of variations in blower rotation on the output of filled rice, 2) To determine the effect of blower variations on empty rice output, 3) To determine the effect of variations in blower rotation on the percentage of filled rice and empty rice and vice versa. This research method begins by modifying the empty rice separator system using the structure of the Yanmar HW 60 AN machine which is a rice grain crusher machine. In this machine, the rubber roll is removed and then connected to the Yanmar TF85 Diesel engine via a belt. Followed by doing several variations of diesel engine rotation including 1000 rpm, 1100 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1300 rpm, 1400 rpm. . This empty rice separator machine is able to optimize the efficiency of rice separation results.
