Abstract
Teachers have the potential to get stressors that come from their work. Various roles and demands that must be fulfilled can cause work stress. There are many ways to reduce work stress, one of which is social support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and work stress on elementary school teachers in Gunung Sahilan District. The data collection method used a social support scale with a total of 34 items and a work stress scale with a total of 26 items distributed to 61 elementary school teachers in Gunung Sahilan District. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with cluster sampling method. The data analysis method used is Pearson Correlation. Based on statistical analysis, it was found that there was a negative and significant relationship between social support and work stress for elementary school teachers in Gunung Sahilan District with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.271 and a significance value (p) of 0.035 (p<0.05). ). This shows that the hypothesis is accepted, meaning that the higher the social support received, the lower the work stress for elementary school teachers in Gunung Sahilan District. Conversely, the lower the social support received, the higher the work stress for elementary school teachers in Gunung Sahilan District.
