Abstract

Taekwondo is a sport from Korea which is a martial art that uses bare feet and hands to defeat opponents. The basic movements of taekwondo consist of stance movements, punch movements, kick movements, parry movements, slashing and stabbing movements. This study builds an Augmented Reality (AR) based application that combines the real world with the virtual world in conveying information to users. This application is made with Unity, 3D animated objects with Blender, library with ARCore with markerless technique. This application runs by moving 3D animated objects according to their respective taekwondo movements. In this test, the application can detect objects with sunlight and lights. Within a minimum distance of 1 cm between the application object and the user, the object can appear well. And the application can run using plain white paper, patterned pillows, black cloth and uneven objects on the condition that there must be light. With this application, the general public can learn the basic movements of taekwondo in order to understand the movement. This research has gone through a validation process with one of the taekwondo trainers and the results of the validation can be concluded that the taekwondo movement and taekwondo application can be implemented but with minor improvements.
