Abstract

The social reaction about the existence of lottery gambling in Pengalihan Enok Village caused various reactions from the community, ranging from a demonstration of aspirations by one of the children who were addicted to the illegal lottery gambling to a dispute between a husband and wife and a gambler. This study aims to find out how the people of Pengalihan Village react to lottery gambling which is growing and causing unrest. This study uses a qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that there is a formal reaction from the police and an informal reaction from the community. The formal reaction that came from the police had taken action but did not immediately disappear the gambling activity so that there was an informal reaction from the social such as fights between gambling addicts and husband-wife quarrels due to being disturbed by the gambling activity but there are also social who tolerate the gambling.
