Abstract

In 2017 there were 122 roads in Pekanbaru City that were permitted to be parking locations with a total of 197 locations recorded or licensed. However, for the number of illegal parking points in Pekanbaru City, the Department of Transportation does not have this data, because the Department of Transportation has not yet conducted a survey, but only carries out direct supervision and action. The purpose of this study is to find out and explain the Implementation of Illegal Parking Place Supervision by the UPTD of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service (Case Study of Pekanbaru City District) and its obstacles. The methods used are descriptive and quantitative methods; The sample was 61 people consisting of the Head and employees of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service Office Parking UPTD, coordinators and the community. Questionnaire and interview data collection techniques as well as descriptive and quantitative data analysis. This study concludes that the Supervision of the Parking Service Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of the Transportation Service in the management of Pekanbaru City parking facilities (Case Study of Pekanbaru City District) has not been fully implemented optimally. This is because the tasks of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service (Dishub) have not run optimally, it can be proven that there are still illegal parking locations in Pekanbaru City. In fact, the Pekanbaru City Transportation Service (Dishub) has made efforts to disseminate information to parking officers about the proper and correct procedures for retribution, as well as outreach to the public about the importance of paying parking fees for the benefit of regional development. However, these efforts do not seem to have had much of a significant impact. So that the target of this sector in increasing the PAD of Pekanbaru City tends to decrease.
