Abstract

This research is entitled "Analysis of Indonesian Language Textbooks Class X SMAN 5 Pekanbaru Published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2016", this study will discuss about describing, analyzing and interpreting Indonesian language textbooks that are appropriate (meets the criteria) to be used by high school students seen from the aspect of material content, presentation, language and graphics. The formulation of this research problem is . Are Indonesian language textbooks feasible (meet the criteria) to be used by high school students in terms of material content, presentation, graphics and language aspects? SMA seen from the aspect of material content, presentation, graphics and language. The research method is descriptive. The data collection technique is analyzing and interpreting the tenth grade Indonesian textbook published by the Ministry of Education and Culture by adhering to the muslich theory. The results of the study by analyzing the books of the Ministry of Education and Culture that: 1) the quality of the books of Indonesian class X students in terms of the content of the material is incomplete, this is because 24 indicators do not have material in the book. 2) the quality of the books of Indonesian students of class X in terms of language gets status complete, this is due to the correct use of punctuation marks, and the words used are standard words. 3) the quality of the books of Indonesian class X students in terms of presentation gets the appropriate status, this is due to the presentation of the components there are summaries, examples of questions and exercises at the end of each chapter.4) the quality of the books of Indonesian students of class X in terms of graphics has appropriate status, this is due to the use of color illustrations, the images displayed are in their original colors. According to the description of the results of the assessment above, it can be stated that the books of class X students are compiled, published and distributed by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
