Abstract

Consumptive behavior is a pattern of consumer behavior that makes excessive purchases of a product, based on research there are many factors that influence consumptive behavior, one of which is low self-control in consumers. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior towards beauty products through online shopping among Mrs. Bhayangkari Polres Indragiri Hilir. This population is 180 Mother Bahyangkari. In this study is a cluster random sampling technique, the sample of this study amounted to 124. The data of this study were taken using the self- control scale and consumptive behavior. The research data were analyzed using product moment. The results of this study indicate that there is a negative or significant relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior towards Mrs. Bhayangkari with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.664 with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means the higher self-control, the lower the behavior. consumptive, on the other hand, the lower the self-control, the higher the consumptive behavior. The effective contribution of self-control to consumptive behavior in Bhayangkari Polres Indragiri downstream is 44.1% while the remaining 56.9% is influenced by other factors.
