Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of Tuah Betung Dance Studio in Dumai City, the management functions are planning, organizing, mobilizing, and supervising. The theory used in this research is the theory of George R. Terry in M. Jazuli. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis method using interactive qualitative data. The research subjects are Alfala as the founder and choreographer of the studio, and Dwijayanti as the training section of the studio. The object of research is the history of the studio, the background of the establishment of the studio, and the management system used. Data collection techniques were carried out by: (1) observation, (2) interviews, (3) documentation. The problem formulation of this research is How is the Management of Tuah Betung Dance Studio in Dumai City. This study aims to determine the management system of Sanggar Tuah Betung. Data collection in this study used documentation in the form of interviews, field recordings, personal documentation, photos and so on. The results showed that the Tuah Betung Dance Studio used management functions which included: (1) planning containing the registration of new members, determining exercise schedules, dance learning activities, evaluation of dance learning, and work programs, (2) organizing containing job details, job grouping, division of tasks and coordination, (3) mobilization includes the participation of existing events, and (4) supervision includes continuous assessment and evaluation with the aim of being a reference for better studio management. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that Planning, Organizing, Mobilizing, and Monitoring.
