Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem about lack of students’ learning interest in Al-Qur’an Hadith lesson. Where some of students were lack of attention when teacher explain, some of students were lack of awareness in taking note the lesson from teacher, some of students were lazy and less passion in learning, meanwhile teacher gave motivation, passion, potential and ability that could increase students’ interest. Students should have high learning interest, learning interest was very important to students because it was an important factor to push someone to follow teaching and learning process and learning interest also determined students’’ achievement. Formulation of the research questioned about how the influence of drill method on students’ learning interest in Al-Qur’an Hadith lesson at Islamic junior high school Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru. This research used quantitative with correlational approach. The population involved all class 7 Islamic junior high school Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru in 180 students and sample took 125 students. Data collection used questionnaire and documentation. this research finding showed that the hypothesis about the influence of drill method on students’ learning interest in Al-Qur’an Hadith lesson was accepted with significant score 0.000. The influence score in 0.437 or 43.7% could be predicted if drill method was fixed; it could give contribution to increase students’ learning interest (Y) in 0.797 or 79.7%. Vice versa, if drill method decrease, students’ learning interest would decrease 0.797 or 79.7%. It could conclude that from research finding, there was any influence of drill method on students’ learning interest in Al-Qur’an Hadith lesson at Islamic junior high school Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru.
