Abstract
The problem of prostitution in Indonesia has become a classic problem that is often found in several countries around the world, including Indonesia. Even in Indonesia, prostitution has been used as a livelihood for women in Indonesia, either known as juvenile delinquency or as a profession. Several ways have been taken by the government, but instead of reducing the problem, it has spread to almost every corner of big cities and even remote cities, such as karaoke places, reflexology, salons and other locations. minors. The main problem in this research is how to implement legal protection for underage commercial sex workers in Pekanbaru City and what factors can support and hinder the implementation of legal protection for underage commercial sex workers in Pekanbaru City. Legal protection for underage sex workers who are in their position in the crime of prostitution as regulated in Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection. The type of research used in this research is sociological research. Sociological research is to give importance to empirical-qualitative analysis. So that the steps that are designed are technically legal research, therefore the steps start from the formulation of the problem, through determining samples, measuring variables, collecting data and making analysis designs, so that the final process is drawing conclusions. The result show, legal protection for underage sex workers has been done by the Pekanbaru City Government by providing assistance to underage sex workers by the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in the form of medical assistance and psychological assistance. Meanwhile, the first obstacle in providing legal protection for underage sex workers has been done by the Pekanbaru City Government by providing assistance to underage sex workers by the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in the form of medical assistance and psychological assistance. However, legal protection for underage sex workers has not been maximized as mandated by law, this can be seen from the form of legal protection given to underage sex workers in Pekanbaru City, which is only limited to assistance by the Pekanbaru City Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Office at the investigation stage.
