Abstract
Almost in every plant there is a lignin component so that the presence of lignin in nature is very abundant, lignin is included in the second most abundant organic polymer component on earth after cellulose. Where the availability of lignin reaches 300 billion tons which will increase by about 20 billion tons every year, but at this time only about 2% of the total presence of available lignin is only used commercially. TKKS is a plant that can be used as an organic surfactant by utilizing lignin components to be sulfonated into lignosulfonate surfactants. In this study, the researchers used the delignification method to obtain quality lignin by testing the temperature parameters when cooking black liquor starting from 90 0C, 1000C and 1100C and the H2SO4 concentration which was distinguished from 6%, 8% and 10%. The results obtained from the study. This resulted in the volume of black liquor as much as 200 ml with a pH of 13 and a yield of 76%. While the highest weight of lignin from the isolation process using sulfuric acid was 2.43 g and based on the FT- IR group test the best sample was sample A with a boiling temperature treatment of 110 0C and concentration H2SO4 at 10% isolation.
