Abstract

The research was conducted in Sumpur Kudus District, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra Province. Located at the coordinates 0° 30' 02" North Latitude - 100° 50'00" East Longitude and 0° 32' 29" North Latitude - 100° 52' 80" East Longitude. The purpose of this study was to determine the geological conditions and determine the potential for geotourism and its development efforts. The research methods used include geological analysis such as geomorphology, petrological and petrographic analysis, geological structure analysis, analysis of the uniqueness of karst caves, qualitative analysis such as visitor satisfaction surveys and SWOT analysis and quantitative analysis. The geomorphology of the research area is a karst steep hill unit with mud limestone unit lithology, and there is a geological structure in the form of joints. The uniqueness found in this karst cave tourist attraction has the uniqueness found in the cave such as the presence of stalactites, cave pillars, and flow stones. “Gunung Tombuok� is the term used by local people to name this cave because of its location on a hill and its hollow mountain. To get to this cave we can walk up the stone stairs that already exist at this attraction and during the trip to the location, we will be presented with views of the pine forests that are neatly lined up and it will take approximately 25 minutes to get to the cave. this karst. This cave has a width of about 20-30 m with a height of 40-50 m.
