Abstract

This study aims to determine what are the roles of mothers in the application of morals in early childhood at the YLPI Marpoyan Islamic Kindergarten. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The population in this study consisted of five informants, namely two informants from working mothers, two other informants from mothers who did not work (housewives) and another informant, namely YLPI Islamic Kindergarten class teachers as supporters. The results of this study indicate that: the role of mothers in implementing moral values in children is very good and can be said to be successful, the importance of the role of families, especially mothers in implementing good values in order to introduce and apply moral values. Values such as respect and respect, self-discipline, kindness, responsibility must be owned by children as a form of moral behavior that will develop and be passed on to future generations and the value of respect, responsibility is useful so that children can understand their behavior. 1) The mother works to introduce the values of kindness to the child for a limited time. The mother does not work to introduce the values of goodness, namely explaining, introducing, giving a difference to good things and bad things. 2) The working mother engages the child in a discussion of the moral dilemma of approaching the child through the story of the prophet and the story of the Prophet. The non-working mother engages the child in a discussion of moral dilemmas by setting an example and giving advice. 3) Mother works in shaping the child's moral feelings, namely reprimanding and giving advice. Mothers do not work in shaping children's moral feelings, namely educating children to always pay attention to every child's behavior.
