Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on the performance of nurses at Surya Insani Hospital, Pasir Pangaraian. The population in this studywere all nurses at Surya Insani Pasir Pangaraian Hospital, amounting to 34 people with a sample of 34 respondents where the sampling technique used was a census sample. The data collection method using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression with SPSS 23 for Windows as a tool. The results showed that there was a significant effect of emotional intelligence on the performance of nurses at Surya Insani Hospital, Pasir Pangaraian, meaning that Ho was accepted and rejected Ha. The recommendation given to improve the emotional intelligence of nurses is that the leader should not get bored of providing emotional intelligence training to nurses, considering that nurses are the ones who are directly related to patients, so they need high emotional intelligence skills.
