Abstract

The Consumer Dispute Settlement Agency was formed so that dispute resolution can be resolved in an easy, cheap and fast way because Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection stipulates that within a grace period of 21 working days, BPSK is obliged to give its decision. BPSK plays an important role in resolving consumer disputes between PLN (State Electricity Company) and Majestiq Hotel Pekanbaru (Case Study No.260/Pdt.Sus/BPSK/2016/PN Pbr). The main problem in this research is how the role of BPSK (Consumer Dispute Settlement Agency) in the settlement of consumer disputes between PLN (State Electricity Company) and Majestiq Hotel Pekanbaru (Case Study No.260/Pdt.Sus/BPSK/2016/PN Pbr2), and What are the Inhibiting Factors Affecting the Role of BPSK (Consumer Dispute Settlement Agency) in Consumer Dispute Settlement Between PLN (State Electricity Company) and Hotel Majestiq Pekanbaru (Case Study No.260/Pdt.Sus/BPSK/2016/PN Pbr). This type of research is by means of Normative Empirical, research that takes samples from the population using interviews, basic data collection tools and case studies on decisions. The nature of descriptive research is to describe the current state of the subject or object of research based on the facts that appear as they are. The role of BPSK (Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency) in resolving consumer disputes between PLN (State Electricity Company) and Majestiq Hotel Pekanbaru (case study No.260/Pdt.Sus/BPSK/2016/PN Pbr) the process can be seen in several stages, starting from the stages of the parties filing a lawsuit either in BPSK itself or in the District Court, the second stage at the trial and the next stage at the case decision stage, as well as the inhibiting factors that affect the role of BPSK (Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency) with Hotel Majestiq Pekanbaru (case study No.260/ Pdt.Sus/BPSK/2016/PN Pbr) which comes from the performance of BPSK, then the lack of socialization from BPSK and the weak decision from BPSK so that parties who are not satisfied with the BPSK decision can file a lawsuit to the District Court.
