Abstract
Cancer patients in the world are increasing every year. This makes cancer the leading cause of death in the world which creates feelings of anxiety in cancer sufferers. Death anxiety consists of aspects of religiosity where religious coping is a component of religiosity. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between religious coping and death anxiety in cancer patients. Respondents in this study were 60 cancer patients who were Muslim. The sampling technique used is Snowball Sampling. The data collection method used the Death Anxiety Scale (DAS) compiled by Templer (1970) and the Psychological Measure of Islamic Religiousness (PMIR) compiled (Raiya, 2008). The data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho method with the results obtained showing the correlation coefficient r on the positive religious coping dimension of -0.175 with sig. 0.300 > 0.05. Then the negative dimension of religious coping with a correlation coefficient of 0.009 and sig, 0.957 > 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between religious coping and death anxiety in cancer patients.
