Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of adolescent sexual behavior which has recently been found in Kampar Regency. Sexual behavior in adolescents can be suppressed if there is strong self-control. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-control and sexual behavior in adolescents in Kampar Regency. In this study, the sampling method was random sampling with the criteria of unmarried adolescents aged 11-24 years according to the provisions of the WHO statement. Data collection techniques using a Likert scale with the number of items on the self-control variable amounting to 39 items and on the sexual behavior variable as many as 38 items distributed online via googlefrom. The results of the analytical test that have been carried out show the r coefficient value - 0.156 and a significant value of 0.027 (p <0.05) meaning that there is a significant negative relationship between the self-control variable and the sexual behavior variable. Until the higher the self-control, the lower the sexual behavior in adolescents.
