Abstract
This research was conducted in Pekanbaru with a sample of 17 cake and plastic shop entrepreneurs. The purpose of carrying out this research is to determine the suitability of the application of accounting to the cake and plastic material store businesses in Pekanbaru which are in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. ​In completing this research, the researcher used a qualitative method. The data collected in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques in the form of structured interviews, documentation, and observation. Furthermore, after the data is collected the data will be analyzed using descriptive methods. ​The conclusion of this research is that the application of accounting in the cake and plastic shop business in Pekanbaru is not in accordance with the basic concept of accounting.
