Abstract
were carried out at the Laboratory of Fish Seed Center (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture Islamic University of Riau for 1 month in January 2022 starting from research preparation to research completed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and the best time through the immersion method with different time on the growth and survival of baung fish seed. The material used is baung fish seed with a weight of 0.10 g and1.0 cm. The growth hormone used was the “Mina Grow” brand with a dose of 2 mg/l. The research design in this study was with 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely P0 (control, without growth hormone immersion), P1 (immersion with growth hormone for 10 minute), P2 (immersion with growth hormone for 20 minute), P3 (immersion with growth hormone for 30 minute) and P4 (immersion with growth hormone for 40 minute). The best result in this study were in p3 with growth hormone immersion for 30 minute, which resulted in 90% survival rate, weight growth 1.13 g, length growth is 3.60 cm. The water quality in this study supports the maintenance of baung fish seed with a temperature range of 27-29 oC, pH with a value of 6.5-7.5, DO of 5.2-5.7 ppm and ammonia of 0.034 mg/L.
