Abstract
Motorcycle theft activities occur a lot in boarding houses by doing various ways so that motorcycle theft is successful. Marpoyan Damai District, the motorcycle theft was carried out as a mode for students to approach the target so that the perpetrators did not suspect before taking action. The purpose of this study is to identify and provide an overview of the mode of motor vehicle theft in a boarding house in the Marpoyan Damai village of Pekanbaru city. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Discussion Theft of motorbikes in the Kos-Kosan area, Marpoyan Damai District by carrying out the theft mode as a student to trick the target so as not to give suspicion to the perpetrator and there has been no firm action from the police in an effort to handle motorcycle theft, so there are still many thefts found in the Kos-Kosan area, Marpoyan Damai District. The results of the study indicate that the police's efforts have not been maximized in dealing with motorcycle theft through a predetermined mode so that there is no suspicion of the target. The author suggests to the police to carry out routine patrols in Marpoyan Damai village, provide socialization to the public about the current theft mode, and take firm action against the perpetrators of motorcycle theft in the Marpoyan Damai Regional boarding house area.
