Abstract

This research was conducted because there was no known increase in the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) on the basic techniques of sprinting at SMA Negeti 1 XIII Koto Kampar. The purpose of this study was to improve learning basic sprint running techniques using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model for class XI MIPA 2 students of SMA Negeri 1 XIII Koto Kampar. This research uses classroom action research (PTK). The variable used is a rubric for assessing basic sprint running techniques. The research subjects used were students of class XI MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 XIII Koto Kampar. The data analysis techniques used is descriptive statistics with percentages. The results showed that the improvement of the basic technique of sprint running for class XI MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 XIII Koto Kampar was very good. The results obtsined for the basic technique of sprint running for class XI MIPA 2 students of SMA Negeri 1 XIII Koto Kampar in cycle l completed 18 students with a percentage (75%) of 6 students who did not complete it with a percentage (25%) in the complete cycle II 22 students with a percentage (92%) who did not complete 2 students with a percentage (8%). Based on the results of research data analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that by using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in classXI MIPA 2 SMA Negeri 1 XIII Koto Kampar can improve basic sprint running techniques.
