Abstract

Business actors who have been detrimental to consumers can be protected by the existence of a consumer protection law is to supervise food products circulating in the market in Indonesia, in the institution that handles the supervision of food products is the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM). BPOM's role is to supervise the circulation of drugs and food on the market and to provide guidance to business actors. BPOM's supervision of food products indirectly plays a role in protecting consumers from food products that are not suitable for consumption. Supervision of food products carried out by BPOM means that BPOM has helped maintain consumer rights, namely maintaining consumer safety and security.The Main Problems of Research This thesis is Consumer Protection in the Food and Beverage Trade Containing Hazardous Materials in the Bangkinang Inpres Market and Constraints in Consumer Protection in the Food and Beverage Trade Containing Hazardous Ingredients in the Bangkinang Inpres Market. This type of research is observational research by survey, namely research that takes data directly from the population / respondent by holding interviews and questionnaires as a data collection tool, then from the data taken is processed so that conclusions are obtained by deductive method. Whereas when viewed from its nature, this research is descriptive, namely research that explains in clear and detailed sentence about legal protection for consumers (school children) in the form of snacks or snacks that use addictive / dangerous substances that are sold freely in schools. Consumer Protection in the Food and Beverage Trading Containing Harmful Substances in the Bangkinang Inpres Market (Selling food and beverages) that are sold to consumers in the Bangkinang Inpres Market is to realize legal protection for consumers so that every food product, especially food and beverage selling products for Inpres Market children Bangkinang, but not a few business people who do not have good intentions in running their businesses include dangerous food additives (Additive Substances) which are caused due to economic interests and factors of Human Resources (HR) producers and consumers. The economic interest factor is that business people want to spend as little as possible and get as much profit as possible. As for the human resources from the business sector, there is a lack of knowledge about the ins and outs of Dangerous Food Additives (BTP). From the consumer side, namely the low purchasing power of the people, they always want cheap and tasty products without regard to product quality that the Constraints in Consumer Protection in the Food and Beverage Trading Containing Harmful Materials in the Bangkinang Inpres Market are that the POM Center has no authority to drop sanctions on naughty business actors, plus the absence of information provided to the public to BBPOM on business people who are naughty in selling their food and beverage sales to Bangkinang Inpres Market,
