Abstract
The utility of electric power for the state in realizing the welfare of society in all fields and in line with the provisions in Article 33 paragraph (2) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. This law states that the business of providing electricity is controlled by the state and used for - great prosperity of the people whose implementation is carried out by the government and regional governments. The government and local governments in accordance with their respective authorities shall establish policies, regulations, supervision, and implementation of electricity supply business. Based on the above background, the problem that will be answered in this thesis research is about How the Legal Protection of Electric Power Providers and Users is Seen Based on Law Number 30 of 2009 concerning Electricity and Are Obstacles in Legal Protection Against Electric Power Providers and Users Reviewed Based on the Law -Law Number 30 of 2009 concerning Electricity? This type of research is a sociological legal research conducted by means of a survey, namely research directly to the research location using data collection tools in the form of interviews and questionnaires. Meanwhile, if viewed from its nature, this writing is descriptive analytical, which means the research is intended to provide a detailed, clear and systematic description of the main research problems.. Legal Protection Against Electricity Providers and Users Reviewed Based on Law Number 30 of 2009 concerning Electricity is legal protection for electricity providers where the community as consumers must pay monthly account fees, pay fines when the monthly electricity bill payment is due and the community is ready to cut off the electricity if the community does not fulfill the provisions agreed in the agreement for the use of electric current, while legal protection for the community as consumers has not yet been realized properly, such as the occurrence of unilateral blackouts by PLN, and payment of electricity arrears that are not in accordance with the amount of usage.
