Abstract

Leisure activities for autism adolescents aim to develop existing abilities and independence inside of them, they need free time activities to be able to have better interact with the surrounding environment. This research aims to find out the characteristics of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in adolescent on doing leisure activity. Researcher uses the observation method of narrative event sampling description and used semi-structured interviews. The results of this study by doing free time activities on adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, there will be a good development in independence, knowledge and problems solving on adolescents. The results of the research on the first subject (AS) felt happy by doing leisure activities such as playing ball, relay, playing baseball and learning computers which supported by his mother so that AS has special skills after doing leisure activities such as being good at playing drums. The results of the study on the second subject AA felt happy by doing leisure activities such as playing mobile-phones, playing Play Station and hiking supported by the AA family so that after doing leisure activities the subject felt calmer and knew which ones should and should not be done.
