Abstract

Abstrack Group cohesiveness is very important in the organization of encouragement for members to stay in the organization. Organizational commitment has an influence on group cohesiveness. This study aims to determine the relationship between group cohesiveness and organizational commitment in the Pekanbaru Tua motorcycle community. The method of data collection using the group cohesiveness scale was adapted from Forsyth's (2010) theory and J.P.Meyer And N.J.Allen (Eliyana Et Al., 2012). The number of items on the group cohesiveness scale is 26 items and the number of items for organizational commitment is 39 items. The sample in this study amounted to 90 people. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling. The data analysis method used is regression analysis. Based on the results of the correlation test between group cohesiveness and organizational commitment, the correlation coefficient value (r) = 0.568 and a significant value of 0.000 (p>0.05). This shows a significant positive correlation on group cohesiveness with organizational commitment in the Pekanbaru Tua motorcycle community. an effective contribution of 32% to group cohesiveness, while the rest is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
