Abstract

This study is motivated by the rapid development of zakat institutions in Indonesia, therefore the institutions should have amils whose high competence in zakat management. The problem formulation of this study is how the implementation strategy for Human Resource Management (HRM) in developing the National Amil Zakat Institution (LAZNAS) in Pekanbaru city. This study was conducted at LAZISMU Pekanbaru, LAZ IZI Riau, and LAZ Dompet Dhuafa Riau. The type of study is descriptive qualitative research. The informants of this study consist of the leaders, the collection division, and the distribution division of LAZNAS. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The process of data analysis consists of data preparation, editing, coding, and data presentation. The results of the study show that LAZISMU Pekanbaru, LAZ IZI Riau and LAZ Dompet Dhuafa Riau have implemented good human resource management in developing their institutions, and applied the principles and characteristics that exist in the Messenger of Allah, namely Sidiq (honesty), Amanah (responsible), Fathonah (intelligence), Tabligh (communicative) in the management and development of their Amil Zakat institutions.
