Abstract
This study wants to describe the handling of child victims of sexual violence by the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children in Dumai City. The phenomenon of sexual violence against children has become a concern in various circles, the many cases of sexual violence against children that occur are considered as one example of the poor quality of child protection in Indonesia. This phenomenon continues to increase with various modes carried out by criminals. The method used in this research is qualitative, to find out how the handling of children who are victims of sexual violence carried out by the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children in Dumai City is handled. Based on the results of this study, the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children in Dumai City carried out outreach or identification of victims, carried out rehabilitation stages, provided legal assistance to victims and carried out an examination process related to forensic psychology. As well as socialization to schools in Dumai City and socialization of integrated child protection to prevent crime from occurring so that criminal policies can be divided into two, namely crime prevention and (formal reactive) policies after a crime occurs.
