Abstract
This study aims to determine the implementation of strengthening character education (PPK) in thematic learning in elementary schools. The method used in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques and instrument are observation, interviews, and documentation. Testing the validy of the data using source triangulation and technical triangulation. Data study is that in the implementation of Class-Based Character Education Strengthening (PPK) in class V Thematic learning at SDN 190 Pekanbaru, it is quite well implemented and teachers have attempted to integrate class-based character values in thematic learning such as integrating character values in the learning process, manage classes and learning methods according to the chacarter of students, evaluate learning and develop curriculum for local content of students. However, it has not shown maximum result because in the learning process there are still some obstacles that teachers face. The obstacles that teachers face in umplementing class-based character education strengthening in thematic learning in class V understanding of some students towards character values in the thematic learning process in the classroom.
