Abstract
INFLUENCE OF THE INTENSITY OF SOCIAL MEDIA USE ON THE DELINQUENCY BEHAVIOR OF SMAN 3 TUALANG STUDENTS MUHAMAD ABDI DWI BAGAS 178110209 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY RIAU ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY ABSTRACT Adolescents are individuals who are in a process of the mechanisms of life, each individual prepares himself through a cycle of change to maturity. Juvenile delinquency is a form that indicates the existence of morals that deviate from violations of the norms applied. The intensity of social media use is the length of time or duration that is integrated in a social behavior with life in the use of social media, so far away in emotional imagination. The study aimed to find out how the intensity of social media use affects adolescent delinquency. This research uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were students of SMAN 3 Tualang as many as 161. The instruments used in the study were the intensity scale of social media use and the juvenile delinquency scale with data collection through questionnaires, which were disseminated through Google forms. Data analysis uses simple linear regression statistics. The result of the value of F of 9.996 with a significant level of 0.002 < 0.05 can thus be concluded that there is a significant influence on the intensity of social media use on juvenile delinquency so it can be said that the hypothesis in this study is accepted.
