Abstract

Sexual crimes against children are regulated in Law Number 35 of 2018 concerning Child Protection. Sexual crimes committed against children will have a great influence on health values, moral values, social rehabilitation and the need for social assistance in their development. Therefore, children need to get their rights as victims. In the city of Pekanbaru, the number of child victims of sexual crimes in 2018 was 73 people and the number of child victims of crime in 2019 was 58 people. This study aims to find out that with the protection given to child victims of crime in the city of Pekanbaru and the forms of protection that have been established and applied in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru Police. This research was carried out in the city of Pekanbaru, especially at the Pekanbaru Police. The data collection technique used by the author is field research and interviews. The collected data is then processed and analyzed qualitatively and then presented descriptively. The results obtained from this study are (1) as a child victim of a sexual crime in Pekanbaru City in order to avoid and be protected from actions that will cause crime against him. In this case, parents have an important role and an important role in the community/environment to give attention and supervision so that there are no acts against children as victims of sexual crimes. (2) as for the forms of implementation of legal protection for child victims of crime in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru Police, namely those that have been based on the provisions of the laws and regulations that have been stipulated according to the rules. Then, with the legal protection process for child victims of sexual crimes, there are parties who play an active role in carrying out activities with full responsibility in order to provide legal protection for child victims of sexual crimes.
