Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT OF HABSYI AS A TRADITIONAL ART IN TEMBILAHAN CITY, RIAU PROVINCE VIERA FEBRIYANTI 166710239 ABSTRACT This research is entitled "The Development of Habsyi as Traditional Art in Tembilahan City, Riau Province". This Research Aims To Find Out How Habsyi Develops In Tembilahan City From Functions, Poetry, Game Patterns, Player Costumes, Make Up, Accessories / Decorations, And Musical Instruments In Habsyi Art. The theory used in this study uses developmental theory according to Edy Sediawati (1986:165) and tradition theory according to Pelly Usman (1991:79). This study uses qualitative descriptive methods, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. This research was conducted in Tembilahan City, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Subjects in this study amounted to 7 people. Habsyi art is a traditional art that has existed since ancient times which developed in Tembilahan City, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. At first, Habsyi art was used as a means of preaching and opening the reading of the Qur'an. In 2003 it was introduced to the public, in 2006 Habsyi art developed in terms of function and costumes, in 2006-2015 Habsyi art continued to experience good development in terms of function, poetry, game patterns, costumes, make up, ornaments, and tools Music, The Peak In 2020 Habsyi Art Experiences Development In All Aspects And Becomes Traditional Art In Tembilahan City. Habsyi art is played by a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of as many as possible consisting of vocals, readers and Hadroh players (musicians).
