Abstract

ABSTRACT The Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) is one of the regional-owned business units engaged in the distribution of clean water for the general public. Every company is obliged to seek K3 protection for its workers. K3 efforts are intended to ensure that workers get safety guarantees and improve the health status of workers/laborers through the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases, controlling hazards in the workplace environment, and maintaining health. And so workers are required to implement and comply with the rules or SOPs on K3 that have been set in order to avoid accidents and occupational diseases. The main issues raised are how is the compliance with the implementation of the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) in occupational safety and healt and whether the compliance with the implementation of the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) in the Pekanbaru Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) has been carried out. The author uses the method of observational research by means of surveys, namely research using data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and interviews. Meanwhile, when viewed from the nature of this research is descriptive analytical, namely research that describes and explains the reality in the field. And the results of the study indicate that compliance with the implementation of standard operational procedures in the protection of occupational safety and health based on Law no. 13 of 2003 at the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Siak Pekanbaru City is still not good even though the company has tried to provide work safety equipment and create a safe and healthy work environment. The inhibiting factor is that there are still many workers who do not comply with or heed the K3 regulations or SOPs made by the company which result in the worker getting a work accident. And the company is also unable to meet the number of PPE available and quickly replace the damaged one with new PPE because it is constrained by funding because the company's turnover or income has decreased. Efforts made by PDAM Tirta Siak Pekanbaru to overcome these obstacles are in the form of prevention by identifying workplace environmental hazards, examining workers' health, OHS training, and emergency training. And in installments little by little the PPE needed to be sufficient for all workers.
