Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT ON STUDENTS’ MORALS AT THE FILIAL SCHOOL OF SMPN 1 KEBUN LADO IN SINGINGI DISTRICT, KUANTAN SINGINGI REGENCY DINA INTANIAH 162410023 This study is motivated by the moral problems that appear among the students. There are several problems that exist in students at the filial school of SMPN 1 Kebun Lado, e.g. the lack of courtesy of students to the teachers and friends, there are some students who are undisciplined in wearing uniform, there are some students who bring smartphones to school, and there are some students who litter the school environment. Supposedly, a student who has been taught morals must show good morals around the school environment. To overcome these problems, it should be implemented more moral lessons which are in accordance with the needs of students at the filial school of SMPN 1 Kebun Lado. This study aims to investigate the influence of school environment on students’ morals at the filial school of SMPN 1 Kebun Lado. The type of this study is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The sample of this study consists of 80 students because the population is less than 100 students. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The results of study show that the significant value of hypothesis test is p = 0.000 <0.05, it means that there is an influence of school environment on students’ morals at the filial school of SMPN 1 Kebun Lado. The magnitude of influence can be seen in the summary table with an R-Square value of 429 or 42.9%. It means that the students’ morals are influenced by the school environment by 42.9% or in the moderate level. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of school environment on students’ morals at the filial school of SMPN Kebun Lado in Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency.
