Abstract

Infidelity is a relationship between a person who is married to another person who is not a legitimate spouse, the relationship can be a bit of a very close emotional connection or also involving sexual intercourse. In the affair also has the term psychological dynamics or encouragement and psychological impact of the affair. Where a person is encouraged to defend his household from his cheating partner as well as how the psychological impacts of the person from that affair. The purpose of this research is to know the psychological dynamics of a person to defend his household from the affair and the psychological impact and treatment of the affair. This study involved two subjects that were victims of the affair of the partner who was in the city of Pekanbaru. The method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach. The results showed that the factor that would be a person to defend his household from the infidelity of his partner was to defend his children so as not to be messy, then the economic factor also as a trigger for someone to defend his household from his partner's affair and the presence of motivational factors. Therefore, there are some psychological impacts that are felt due to the affair that the two subjects felt a deep sadness, heartache, depression, and easy to stress. Both subjects said the treatment that they do to relieve stress resulting from the affair is with the treatment of religious beliefs such as doing religious activities such as praying, Koran, follow the activities of the Taklim Council, etc. The other treatment done by both subjects is to consult a psychologist.
