Abstract
The pedestrian path on Jalan Hr. Soebrantas is a pedestrian path that borders two sub-districts, namely Tuah Madani District and Bina Widya District with mixed use land use. The high intensity of activities on the pedestrian path of Jalan Hr. Soebrantas raises problems for pedestrian comfort, including the reduced area of pedestrian movement due to misuse of functions and the provision of inadequate pedestrian facilities. The purpose of this research is to formulate a policy direction to increase the comfort of pedestrian paths on Jalan Hr. Soebrantas in accordance with the criteria and standards of pedestrian facilities to meet the needs of road users' facilities and infrastructure. This study uses a descriptive method with qualitative and quantitative approaches that are used to analyze the physical condition of the Pedetrian Path on Jalan Hr. Soebrantas Pekanbaru City based on the Minister of Public Works No. 03 of 2014. In addition, this study also analyzes the perception of lane users on the convenience of pedestrian paths by analyzing the Likert scale and formulating policy directions for increasing pedestrian lane comfort on Jalan Hr. Soebrantas. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the pedestrian paths on the south and north sides have different sizes and uneven path surfaces. The condition of pedestrian path facilities such as drainage, seats, green lanes, trash cans, safety fences, information boards, lighting lamps and bus stops has not been maximized in its provision. Based on the pedestrian perception, indicators that are said to be quite comfortable are indicators of accessibility, connectivity, security, comfort and facilities. While the indicators that are said to be uncomfortable by the respondents are indicators of cleanliness. The results of the analysis show that the physical conditions and user perceptions of the comfort of the pedestrian path are not appropriate. Thus, from the findings, a policy direction for increasing comfort is formulated in the form of repairs, additions and construction of pedestrian facilities and infrastructure on the pedestrian path of Jalan Hr. Soebrantas in accordance with the criteria and standards of determination.
