Abstract
This study aims to obtain a description about students’ digital literacy and science literacy skills on science learning at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu. This research is a descriptive quantitative research with survey method. Instruments used for collecting the data were questionnaires and science literacy test which were adopted from PISA 2015. The research was conducted in April 2022. The population of this study was grade IX students. The purposive sampling was used as a sampling technique with 125 students as the digital literacy samples and 135 students as the science literacy samples. The result of students’ digital literacy showed that on internet searching and content evaluation competences students’ skills were considered high with the respective percentages 81.5% and 77.67%, while on hypertextual navigation and knowledge assembly competences, students’ skills were considered as enough with the respective percentages 74.29% and 73.86%. The result of students’ science literacy showed that students’ skills on explaining phenomena scientifically, evaluating and designing scientific enquiry, and interpreting data and evidence scientifically competences were considered as very low with respective percentages 17.93%, 10.37% and 24.20%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the digital literacy skills of students grade IX at SMPN 6 Siak Hulu were considered high with average percentage 76.84%. However, the science literacy skills were very low with average percentages 17.5%
