Abstract

SELF-ACCEPTANCE WITH PARENTS WHO HAVE CHILDREN WITH DYSLEXIA REZA AULIA ICHSA 168110172 FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF RIAU ABSTRACT Every parent wants a child who is born and developed perfectly, but in reality not all children are born with normal conditions, there are some children who are born with special needs such as learning disorders (dyslexia). The disabled child makes self-acceptance of their parents varied, some are refuse and others do. This study aims to see self-acceptance with parents who have dyslexia children. This study has been involved 2 parents (mothers) with the same profession. This research used qualitative methods with descriptive studies. The data analysis used coding (coding). The results showed that self-acceptance on both of subjects who have dyslexia children show positive self-acceptance. Both of subjects are able to go through various stages of good self-acceptance so that they could accept the weaknesses and strengths of themselves or their dyslexia children. It was thanks to their husband’s and families suport, also good acceptance of 2 subjects who are able to make them accept all of the situation.
