Abstract

SUPERVISION OF FOOD SAFETY OF SCHOOL CHILDREN SNACKS (PJAS) BY LARGE CENTERS OF MEDICINE AND FOOD IN PEKANBARU CITY ABSTRACT Nurma Yunita This study aims to determine the implementation of supervision carried out by the large hall of drug and food supervisors through the field of inspection and investigation of food safety of school children snacks (PJAS) in the city of Pekanbaru. The assessment indicators used include setting standards, comparing performance according to standards, taking corrective actions. The research method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. This research can be categorized as a descriptive study that prioritizes the questionnaire list as a data collection tool and the data collected with this tool is then used as the main raw material for analyzing empirical conditions and the objectivity of the existence of research objectives at a conscientious location. The location of this research is in the large drug and food control center in Pekanbaru, with two population groups and samples in this study, namely the examination and investigation staff totaling 18 people and the principal of elementary school (primary school) totaling 15 people. Types and data collection techniques used consist of primary data collected by questionnaire, interview, and observation techniques as well as secondary data collected through documents, books, and records that are documentation. While the data analysis technique used is to use frequency table tools. . Based on this analysis technique the researchers assessed and concluded that the implementation of food safety supervision for schoolchildren's snacks (PJAS) by the large drug and food watchdog hall in the city of Pekanbaru was at the interval of the Effective Evaluation. Recommendations that need to be reconsidered are particularly concerned with the implementation of supervision which must be optimized again to protect children from hazardous food additives.
