Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle power and eye-hand coordination to the chest pass ability of basketball games in extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci. This type of research is correlation research. The population in this study were male extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci, totaling 16 students. The sampling technique used a saturated sample, the number of samples in this study was 16 students. The instrument of this research is REJECT medicine ball, test throwing the ball at the target, and wall bounce test. value of r x1y = 0.559. the value of rx2y = 0.633, and the value of rx1x2y = 0.738. The conclusions of this study are: 1) there is a contribution of arm muscle power to the chest pass ability of basketball extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci by 31.3%. 2) There is a contribution of eye and hand coordination to the chest pass ability of basketball extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci by 40.1%. 3) There is a contribution of arm muscle power and eye and hand coordination to the chest pass ability of the extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci by 54.4%.
